Valencia

First thing this morning we went on another free walking tour. Our guide, Duncan, is originally from Scotland. We got to see all of the great architecture and hear about the history of the city. I'm sad to say that we will be missing out on the tomatina festival. (If you're not sure what it is, look up pictures. Hilarious!)

We saw the Santa Catalina Church, tried the local drink Horchata (I think it tastes like powdered sugar in water and a little milk), saw the the Valencia Cathedral, Basilica of our Lady of the Forsaken, the SilkExchange Building (no longer used), the post office, and the bullring - sadly nothing going on while we are here.

Also saw the largest candy store I have ever seen. There were candy in the walls!!!

We walked around the local market here. Just as large as Barcelona's but it was more of a buy and take home to prepare than an eat your way through. Translation: not as fun

We did purchase a gorgeous looking Valencia orange to try. I will let you know where it ranks with the Florida orange :)

We did some browsing and shopping. FOUND A NEW FUN STORE!! Move over Dunne's you have competition. It is called Pull and Bear. VERY inexpensive. Bill got a nice pair of sneakers for 9 euro. Crazy.

Off again in the morning to Madrid. I'm beat so I am signing off early.
