London- guess I should rewind?

So we landed in London early evening today. I guess I should back up first and explain day two of Morocco and then the plan of the great escape.

We decided that we needed to get out of Marrakech so we booked an excursion to the Ozoud Waterfalls. We figured since it was on a mountain that we might get a little reprieve from the dusty, dry, and ungodly hot temperatures.

We were told to be at the hotel lobby where we booked by 8 am. We were there, no one else was. By 820 we were getting a little nervous. A few minutes later a guy drives up, runs in, yells 'ozoud' and waves us out. We hop in and drive for about 5 minutes. We sit in the van with another couple, no instructions, it's hot.... Then 15 minutes later were were told to get out and go to the Sahara bus across the street to meet up with others who were also going. We finally take off around 9. We drive for about 20 minutes before we have another lovely Chinese fire drill on the side f the road outside of town. This is into a larger bus with the rest of the group. 2 hr ride later we are finally there. Now, this was one of those situations that if we were given a heads up, ok, no problem. We weren't so it was completely annoying.

We meet our guide at the mountain and he directs us down to a small area that is set up for us to go in the water and rock jump/ dive if we would like to. There was a mini waterfall and it was very nice. Water was cold! But it was very nice.

After about an hr we got our things together and continued to head up to see the Ozoud. It was massive and very pretty. We were able to eat lunch (surprise that wasn't actually included either!) by the waterfall which was cool and of course pretty to look at. We had Moroccan BBQ and it was pretty good. For dessert we had a melon that tastes kind if like cantaloup. Back up to the bus we went and two hours back to Marrakech.

Back at our hostel, Bill and I had a conversation about how we don't want to stay for basically another two days. We were over Morocco, pretty much did all there was to do, and the fact that we were exhausted from constantly having to be on alert. When we would handle money it felt like a hostage situation afraid that someone was going to take it, or something, I don't even know. It was just high stress. You know it's bad when Bill says, "I wish they weren't so obvious that they were taking about us." Spit made its way in my direction more than once. I don't know if Bill would of had a better time if I wasn't there, or if I was a guy....

Bill found a flight for 9 am the next morning. I was up at 530, woke him at 630 to say get up we are leaving.i literally felt like we were fleeing in the night. the hostel was still dark and quiet. Bill Haggled with a taxi to get us to the airport without being ripped off and by the time we got there I couldn't wait to get up in the air so I could breathe. (Found out after that our original flight was delayed almost three hours. Getting us into London after 3am) I was so happy when we got to London that I wanted to cry.

We were very overly tired at this point- Bill on the bus to our hostel

We went to our one night hostel since the one we were staying at for the week didn't have any vacancies. We dropped our things, got out the map and list (started our very large 'to do' list on the plane) and got to work on the very large London and all we wanted to do/ see. We decided to go out to dinner since our hostel wasn't very nice to sit somewhere to eat or to cook. A cutesie little Mediterranean place where I had delicious pork stuffed with ham and feta, with a glass of wine. Mmmmm!  We packed it in early to start fresh the next day.
