This quaint little town is a mixture of Jewish quarters and Christianity quarters and the old walls that surrounded the town are still up. Very medieval in some areas that they have preserved. Very mish-mashy.
First stop the Church of San Millan. Woo. Nope that's what it looks like in person too.
Then we have the gorgeous basilica. This baby was monstrous. There were 19 rooms, three towers, and an organ that would blow your socks off.
We walked through Alcazar which was very cool. There were old tapestries, furniture, and murals that were preserved. Stained glass and armory that all kept with the time period. Very authentic.
**fun fact- I was told that this was the model used to create Cinderella's castle in Disney **
We decided to feast on the towns specialty and have a linner before we left. Segovia is the home of the pig... The suckling pig to be exact
This was recommended as the best place to get it so in we went. I'm not going to lie. I was afraid it was going to come out with a head on it. I told Bill if it did, I was out! Listen, I know I have an abnormal love for ham, bit I'm not excited about being reminded what it is and have it staring at me while I'm eating other body parts... Call me crazy
Like usual we came across some fun art and a cute display in the visitors center
Tomorrow is our last day in Madrid and it will be a stretch at that, one day too long, but better than too short. Can't wait to figure out how to fill up the hours until we catch the overnight bus to Granada.
