Madrid final

So yes, one day too many. Last day in Madrid and we had to stretch it out since we are taking the overnight bus to Granada.

We walked to check out the Temple of Debod. It of course was on the other side of the city so that helped with the time issue :) The temple is Egyptian with cave drawings on the walls. Very cool because the had little signs telling you what the picture was and what it meant.

We headed back to our area which was Puerta la Sol. To get a few historical pictures
This is the exact center of the city.
Bear and a strawberry tree are symbols for Madrid. Legend has it that the trees saved them from a flood and the brown bear used to be plentiful around Spain and their 'sacred' animal

We had a long "Spanish style lunch" at a cute place called la Curruteka. With two hours left before the free museum tour we took a siesta in the park.

Off to Sophia Reina Museum. Special exhibit by none other than Salvador Dali! Woo! Bonus.

Bus will be caught at about 1 am and we will arrive in Granada around 630. See you then!
