Cordoba/ Sevilla

Up early to finish the sightseeing in Cordoba before we got on the train to Sevilla.

To the Cathedral Cordoba we went. This is an absolutely unique and gorgeous building. There is joint architecture here due to the different religions that have taken over the building throughout history. Mainly Christian and Muslim influence is what you still see, and it's remarkable.

Many arches and doorways are hand carved in a manner that creates a certain whimsical flow. There are many pieces of tile all in patterns and colors of the Islamic culture.

Stained glass, sculptures, and certain dome- topped rooms take on the clean while marble and gold carvings of the Christian history.

Put the two together and wow. The building just works so well together and it's amazing.

I am finding myself becoming slightly obsessed with ceilings, organs, and light fixtures.

We got to Sevilla around American dinner time, and since we hadn't eaten all day we decided that lunch would be our big meal of the day. After checking in we hit the market and plotted out our last adventure in the country of Spain.

We decided to leave the "big things" for tomorrow so we had plenty of time and just wondered around the city around us to see what was out there. There are some older buildings that just pop out if places due to the fact that they look nothing like the other structures surrounding them.

Metropol Parasol is the largest wooden structure in the world. This thing takes up the majority of one side of the street and then sprawls over, as it thins out, across the road to the other side of the walkway.  It's monstrous!

Fun street art

The best sangria I have ever had!! I will also be drinking out of a frosted mug from now on. It makes everything better :)
