Scoot-land

Welcome to Scotland! We are apparently here during their 'Fringe Fest' and there are A LOT of people here! There are very cool things going on though on the main drag- street performers, food vendors, merchant stalls. This on top of the normal stores bonus!

We checked in to our hostel and booked ourselves the night tour with our favorite tour group in Europe. The tour is the gore and folklore of Edinburgh. Ya know, the witches, vampires, fairies, and serial killers.

Very cool thing I learned was that the obelisk was built in the cemeteries around here so that the souls of soldiers, unmarked graves, those who died abroad, etc., can find their way home.

Oddly enough there was a statue of Abraham Lincoln in the cemetery also because of those who fought in the wars in America. Those who made it back to be buried and those who didn't.
City view

Off to bed because I am SO tired! We did the free walking tour this morning.

Also oddly enough, they have a unicorn on their crest. Lol

Harry Potter still following us :) this is where JK Rowling sat to write Harry Potter.

We looked in some Scottish shops...

Then went to explore St Giles Cathedral

We booked a show called Bianco for tonight that is here for the Fringe festival. The reviews said it was a little like Cirque. Now, the acrobatics part is, and the stage changes is... However, there are only ten of them. The set changes are constant and there is not electrical. What I mean by that is everything moves by a human pulley system. One guy is off to the side going up and down so the main act can. It is 360 and we stood. There were crew members constantly moving us for set changes and bringing equipment in and out. It was chaotic and I loved it!

Just Brilliant, and of course they made it look effortless. Tomorrow is our last day- well half day- in Scotland and we have the castle to tour, a lunch place to hit, and one more show to see called Noodle. I can't wait to see what this entails!!
